Collation: Parchment, fol. i + 98 + i (folation of 15th or 16th century, mostly arabic, on verso of each folio in upper margin center); 1-812 92; catchwords present. Layout: Written in 45 lines in two columns; ruled in pen; prickings visible in outer margins. Script: Written in gothic textualis media; additions in Italian hybrida currens; marginal index in Italian cursiva media. Origin: Written in Germany in the middle of the 14th century; additions also written in Germany in the 14th century; marginal index written in Italy in the early 15th century. Former owner's inscription (14th century) fol. 98v: Liber fratris Philippi de Alemania [or Alcania]; followed by a cipher (perhaps) a shelf mark); below, an inscription in Italian textualis rotunda, 14th century: Amor amoris Anthonio de Pol de Zotte. Former ower's inscription (16th century) on front flyleaf verso in very black ink: Vetustissimum dictionarium latinum aliisque linguis insertum. Front flyleaf is a notarial diploma dated 25 August 1401 recording a transaction in which a piece of land is sold for 16 ducats to a woman from Vinenza, living in Chioggia: In nomine dei eterni amen. Anno ab incarnacione domini nostri Yesu Christi millesimo quadrigentesimio primo, die vigesimo quinto mensis Augusti, indicione nona, Clugie. Testificor ego Laurencius Panerio, curie Clugie... Inverted drawings (Italian, approximately 1400) of a man and a woman, labeled Pretus [sic] and Margaretha with a pen trial in the same hand (not inverted), "Pater noster in omni omnium tribulacione et a[n]gustia et in omni" on fol. 98v. Second rear flyleaf verso, an inverted inscription worn and now illegible.
