Collation: Parchment (contemporary sewing on some leaves), fol. 208 + i (folios missing after 57(?), 72, 78, and 162); collation impracticable.
Layout: Written in 13 long lines; calendar in 17 long lines; ruled in black and brown plummet and ink.
Script: Written in gothic textualis quadrata media.

Decoration: Full page illumination: fol. 16v, addition, (Christopher, symbols of the Four Evangelists in roundels at each corner); Twenty-two half page illuminations in the presence of gold initials 2-3 lines high; the following are in square compartments accompanied by green, blue, orange, and purple acanthus border with floral decoration, vases, and angels in outer margin; fol. 20r, (John...
2. Decoration: Minor magenta, gold, and blue dentelle initials with similar line fillers; sprigs of floral decoration extend from larger initials.
Origin: Written in France in the first half of the 15th century, quite possibly in northeastern France.
In the first half of the 16th century, this book belonged to Jean Nicolas, Commissaire examinateur au Châtelet, rear flyleaf verso: Ces heures apartiennent a moy, Jehan Nicolas, examinateur et commissaire ordinaire de par le roy notre sire ou Chastellet de Paris, demourant rue Montellerie, d'achapt par luy faict a douze solz tournois.
Former owner's inscription 16th or 17th century: Confitebor tibi domine in toto corde meo.
Rear flyleaf contains epistolary pen exercise, 16th century, including: Henry Roy de France. A nos ames et leaulx conseillers, les gens de nostre court de parlement de Bretagne ..."
