Collation: Thick parchment, fol. 157 (erroneous modern foliation on the first leaf of each quire excludes fol. 1); 18(+1) 28(-1) 3-198 206; traces of leaf signatures visible.
Layout: Written in 15 long lines, calendar in 30 long lines; prickings visible in outer margins.
Script: Written in gothic textualis quadrata formata.
Decoration: fol. 1v: inserted portrait of a male owner wearing armor, in prayer, with a rosary, below crowned Virgin and Child on crescent moon, framed in a flamboyant gothic architectural motif; owner facing his arms with a helmet, mantle, crest, and horrns; legend below reads: Poppo de Wildec dictus Seifert."; fol. 9r: bracket outer rinceaux border with blue, violet, and orange flowers...
Origin: Written in south Germany in 1427; colophon on fol. 155v indicates a female scribe, but this may indicate the rubricator only, for according to a contemporary note, this book was written by Paul, a Carmelite friar, in 1427 for Poppo de Wildek (see fol. 1r for his arms), who gave this book to a certain Henry: "Anno domini mccccxxvii, frater in Christo perdilectus Poppo de Wildek... - Keyword:
