Decoration: Thirteen illuminations on inserted leaves, each accompanied by a blue and gold acanthus spray border decorated with flowers and fruit; matching border on the facing page in the presence of gold, magenta, blue, and green initials, 5 lines high; a fourteenth illumination probably removed after fol. 79.; fol. 80, at the beginning of text, border only without the preceding...

Decoration: fol.1r, gold, magenta, blue, and green initials 5 lines high accompanied by a full border; sections of text marked by gold dentelle initials with white patterning on grounds of blue and magenta 2 lines high. Blue initials with red flourishes alternating with gold initials with blue-black flourishes.
Origin: Written in Flanders, approximately 1460.
Given to Edward E. Ayer by Martin and Carrie Ryerson, 16 November 1911, on the occasion of Ayer's seventieth birthday. His autograph note is on the second front flyleaf.
