Collation: Paper (watermark Y, cf. Briquet 9173-9185), fol. 206; collation impracticable; catchwords mostly removed; traces of alphabetical leaf signatures visible on some rectos, a second sequence by a different hand visible on some versos beginning with Book II.
Layout: Written in 39-44 long lines; frame ruled in very light plummet.
Script: Written in gothic cursiva media; fol. 77r: heading and incipit in lettre bâtarde.
Decoration: Alternating red and blue minor initials.
Origin: Written in France in the middle of the 15th century.
Number 616 in the collection of Joseph Barrois; "616" written on a faded green circular sticker on spine, same number on verso of front flyleaf.
Sold to Lord Ashburnham in 1849, recorded Catalogue of the Manuscripts at Ashburnham Palace (London, 1862); Eighth Report of the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts, Appendix, part 3 (London, 1861), p. 96.
