Collation: Parchment, fol. 266 (error in foliation: fol. 175 should be 176); 14(-1) 212 36 412 5-610 712 8-2210 2312 24-2610 2710(-10); catchwords occasionally enclosed in rectangles present for the original book only beginning with quire 5. Layout: Psalter written in 47 lines is two columns, remainder of the original book in 63 lines in two columns; Quires 2-3, prickings visible in outer margins; quires 5-22 and 24-26, prickings visible in lower margins; ruled in plummet. Script: Witten in Italian gothic textualis media by at least two hands, beginning below the first ruled line; script characterized by a trailing terminal "s"; addtions in quire 23 in Italian gothic textualis media with one-story "a," long "s" slightly below the line; quire 27 written in a similar script characterized by regular use of long termial "s." Origin: Written in Italy before or about 1230; inclusion of Dominic (canonized 1232) on fol. 86v is a correction; quires 2-4 written approximately 1260. Decoration: fol. 5-22, 26: Alternating red and blue initials with an occasional black initial; capitals touched in red; fol. 2-4, 23 have red and blue flourished and alternating minor red and blue simple initials; fol. 27 has red initials only with black paragraph marks. In Franciscan convent of Perugia in the second half of the 13th century; quire 1 added at this time with texts and notes written by Friar Bartholus Blancellus on fol. 1v-2v; additions to litany and calendar of Perugian saints. Quires 23 and 26 added in the 14th century; fol. 257v, and erased ex libris illegible under ultraviolet light; fol. 226v, an erased number (16th century?), possibly a shelf-mark.
