Fragment of the Digesta liber 23 ("De pactis dotalibus" and "De fundo dotali"), compiled by the legal scholar Tiborian under the orders of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian; begins "Scevola. Cum martius qui aestimata predia in dotem acceperat ..." and ends "Heredi quoque mulieris idem auxilum prestabitur quod mulieri prae..." Layout: Written in 2 columns of 46 lines; 70+ lines for commentary; lightly ruled. Script: Written in Southern gothic textura; commentary written in darker ink. Decoration: Plain initials in red or blue; alternating red and blue paragraph marks. Origin: Probably written in Italy in the 14th century. Former owner's manicules and faces in profile drawn in margins.
