Gothic liturgical script.
Written in Spain. Location determined by peculiarities in the calendar, script, penwork and orthography; cf. dealer description in Special Collections Info. file.
Includes a calendar (ff.1-6v), Psalter divided into eight parts according to the Roman usage (ff.7-131v), twelve canticles (ff.131v-144v), litany (ff.144v-148), and a brief series of prayers (ff.148-148v).
The manuscript lacks the beginning of each of the Psalms introducing the eight divisions. When it was rebound the beginning of Psalm 46 was moved to the front in order to replace the missing Beatus vir page.
Initials: one- and two-line initials throughout alternately in red and blue with opposing red and blue penwork. Penwork from the two-line initials extends into the margins and sometimes ends in faces, cf. ff. 8v, 15, 49v, 58v, 115v, 130, 131v.
Gatherings of 10; catchwords.
Some marginal and inter-linear notes and corrections added later (15th cent.?), including the addition in the calendar on 20 May of St. Bernardino of Siena, who was canonized in 1450.
On the first of two parchment flyleaves preceding the calendar is a note: Ce pns livre es pour li[?] sage de seu philippe clausse 1469[?]. - Keyword:
