- Small, round Latin script in black ink; lines of text and margins lightly ruled; pricking visible along outer margins; text on recto of leaf [1] and recto and verso of leaf [55] surrounded by elaborate foliate border in blue and gold; illuminated capitals in red, blue, gold, turquoise, and black, some historiated; pen-flourished initials in red and gold on alternating blue and turquoise...
Incipit: "Ad matutinas Invit. Adoremus dominu[m] qui fecit nos."
Illustrated bookplate of William Harcourt Hooper, signed "H.S.M.", portrays a scholar reading at a table next to a poster containing his family coat of arms and motto "Sans soin ou peur."
Provenance notes on inside front cover in handwriting of Ernst F. Detterer, who acquired the ms. from London bookseller Bertram Dobell in July 1913: cf. Dobell catalogue and De Ricci.
Ownership inscription of the D'Arcy Museum of Loyola University of Chicago, dated Aug. 1984 in pencil on Hooper's bookplate. - Keyword:
