Written by two scribes in gothic bookhands; text in black ink, rubrics in red; text capitals in red and blue; larger capitals in red and blue, elaborately and extensively flourished in blue and red, respectively; seven large illuminated initials with staves of burnished gold, backgrounds filled in with blue or mauve traced with white, and framed in burnished gold; 3 full-page illuminated...
First [149] leaves, ruled in gray, contain 8 lines of text and 8 lines of music on each page, with music arranged on red 4-line staves in Aquitanian notation; leaves [150]-[213], ruled in brown ink, contain 12 lines of text or text with music, with music arranged on red 3-line staves with square notation.
Signatures: 1-38 48(+1) 5-88 96(+1,-3) 10-278.
Marginal annotations and text additions (e.g. leaf [69]v) in a different hand, in brown ink; long-eared owl [?] doodled in margin of leaf [96]v, also in brown ink.
