Gothic script in black and red ink; decorated initials, primarily in red, with some in red, blue, and green.
Illustrations include a large hand-illuminated initial "G," showing St. Francis with the emblem of the Franciscan Order ; three hand-colored metalcuts: two of St. Francis receiving the stigmata, and one of the Virgin and Child on the crescent moon, above the instruments of the Passion.
Some initials excised from text.
Eighteenth-century Dutch armorial bookplate with motto: "Alma Stuarti Knill et Mariae Annae Uxoris ..."
