Comparison with the mss. Garrett 1396 and 1397 shows that this is the tartīb of ʻAlī ibn al-Ḥasan (Brockelmann, GAL, I, 443, c: al-Muḥawwal; S I, 614) and not Anwār al-bawāriq fī tarīb sharḥ al-Mashāriq by Ibrāhīm ibn Muṣṭafá [al-Barghamawī] as a note by a later hand on fol. 1a of the present ms. erroneously indicates. According to Ḥājjī Khalīfah, Kashf al-ẓunūn, col. 1690, the present... Incip. (as extant): ... الشوارع وهى الرماح الطوال Fol. 1b, lin. 19: ... اعلم ان اجزاء هذا الکتاب المحول مرتبة على ثمانىة وعشرىن کتابا
