Origin: Written in Italy in the late 16th century.
Title from spine of codex; author determined by comparison with another text of the same work under the title Flavia tragedia (Ms. Codex 1045).

Binding: Contemporary vellum, pastedown on lower cover.
Script: Written in the humanistic cursive hand of Ardillonius (signature f.135r); marginal annotations in a different humanistic cursive hand.
Watermark: Contains elements similar to Croix Grecque 5457 (1580) and 5465 (1573); two examples of other watermarks similar to Aigle 207 (1573-76, f.3-4), Fleur de Lis 6956 (1549, f.1-2) and 7000 (1580, f.1-2).
Decoration: Pen flourishes at the end of each act.
Layout: Written in 22 long lines.
Owned by Francis Colman, 1703 (owner signature inside upper cover).
