Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for headings and punctuation. The text is vocalized ; yā for alif maqṣūrah ; final yā dotted. Light cream paper, glossy, with laid lines and chain lines (in groups of three). Fol. 1 and 142 are later added fly-leaves. Marginal annotations (chiefly collation notes). Lacuna after fol. 125; fol... Chiefly quinions. Catchword on the verso of each leaf ; the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals (see fol. 11a). Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Ḥadīth 98(?)". Origin: According to colophon, copied by Mūsá ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Khaṭīb bi-Jāmiʻ al-Mazzah al-qadīm [Syria] al-Shāfiʻī al-Manbajī al-Asmarī, Saturday, 25 Shaʻbān 782 [Nov. 24, 1380] (fol. 141a).
