Incipit: الحمد لله على نعمه بجميع محامده واثنى عليه بالاية فى بادى الامر وعايده ... اما بعد فلا خلاف بين اولى الالباب والعقول ولا ارتياب عند ذوى المعارف والمحصول ان علم الحديث والآثار من اشرف العلوم الاسلامية Explicit: فى كتاب النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم لاقوال شبوة ذكر ييعث هى بفتح الياء الاولى وضمّ العين المهملة صقع من بلاد اليمن جعله لهم آخر كتاب النهاية فى غريب الحديث والاثر والحمد لله اولا وآخرا وصلوته على سيدنا محمد النبى الامى وآله الطاهرين وصحبه Physical description: 25 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red for headings and entries. The entries are repeated in red on the margin. Thin light cream paper with laid lines visible. Title on tail of text block (hardly legible). Origin: Copied by Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Sarakhsī, from a copy copied from an exemplar copied from an autograph (colophon Juzʼ1, fol. 177b). Part 1 completed on Saturday 8 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 879 [April 15, 1475] (colophon Juzʼ 1, fol. 177b, with the name of the copyist reading: Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Naẓām al-Sarakhsī). Part 2 completed in Herat on 29 Ramaḍān 880 [January 26... Several ownership statements on fol. 1a, with impressions of seals, in the name of Mūsá ibn Zakariyā al-Rājī ; Ṭāhā al-Qādirī al-Madanī al-Bahzanjī ; al-Ḥājjī Ḥasan Ibn al-ḥājjī ʻAlī ; --- al-Iṣfahānī in Qusṭanṭinīyah ; etc. Waqf statement from Ṭāhā al-Qādirī al-Bahzanjī (fol. 1a).
