Short definitions of the science of ḥadīth on fol. 1a. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Raqm 362". Collation: Paper, fol. 54 ; 110 (+1, fol. 11, later replacement) 2-410 514 (-1 after fol. 54) ; catchword on the verso of each leaf ; the quires are numbered using Arabic ordinals. Copied by Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Mughayzil(?) wa(?) Ibn Ḥamād al-Ḥamawī al-Shāfiʻī al-ʻAbdarī in Cairo (al-Qāhirah) on Yawm al-Aḥad Rajab 3, 850 (colophon, fol. 52b ; the name of the copyist appears in a fuller version in the samāʻ note following the colophon).
