Fol. 80r and 81v are blank.
Collation: Parchement, ii (20th-century paper) + 81 (foliated in early black ink) + ii (20th-century paper); 1-612 712(-8,11,12); catchwords in bottom center margin on some quires.
Layout: Written in 2 columns of 33 lines; drypoint ruling.
Script: Written in Gothic script, with soft rounded Italian "r" and stroked "i", Tironian et (no crossbar), and inverted "c" brevigraph.
Decoration: Rubrication and blue and red 4-line initials throughout. Lombardic Versals wheel on fol 81r, a later addition dated 1435.
Binding: Brown morocco over boards; blind stamped borders; gilt spine title; woodblock printed endpapers with pocket on rear inside cover.
Accompanying materials: 20th-century typescript description laid in pocket in rear inside cover.
Origin: Likely produced by Italian monks. Written in the late 14th century based on script.

Typescript description in pocket of rear inside cover recounts a (possibly apocryphal) account of the book's provenance: "It was thrown on the fires during the Spanish Civil War and was purchased among other books from the soldiers for the price of 3 jugs of wine.
