Script: Written in naskh in black ink.
Collation: Paper (visible laid and chain lines), fol. 211 (foliated 1-211 in pencil); catchwords every verso, lower left.
Layout: Written in 20 long lines; inner border-rule for main text in red, black, and gold; outer border-rule in black with some marginal notes.
Decoration: Dual-page decorated first opening with floral designs in gold, red, blue, green, and white (fols. 1v-2r). Sūrah headings in red on gold, verse endings marked by a gold disc.
Binding: Lacquered binding with floral motifs, central mandorla, and pendants painted in gold, red, green, yellow, white, and brown; rebacked in red morocco.
Origin: "Kashmir, ca. 1770"--Bookseller's description from Antiquariat Inlibris Gilhofer Nfg. GmbH. Colophon (fol. 210v) gives the scribe's name, Ibn Mollānā Bū ʿAbdallāh Āṣaf, and the date 9 Muḥarram.
Former owner's stamp on fol. 210v, illegible. Prayer added later in a different hand on fol. 211r. Two manuscript bookplates affixed to front pastedown. - Keyword:
