Collation: Fol. 45 missing. Script: All contained works were written in black ink and rubricated. Three scribes: scribe 1 wrote De contemplatione, scribe 2 wrote De exterminatione mali et promotione boni and De status interioris hominis, and scribe 3 wrote Compendium theologicae veritatis. Compendium theologicae veritatis is in a fine, small, upright Gothic hand, with many initials delicately decorated in blue and red. Origin: The manuscript is a composite 15th-century codex containing unrelated copies of four popular 12th-century works written in three different hands and with different origins. Binding: Early alum-tawed pigskin over boards, wormeaten. A portion of one metal clasp remaining. Five large holes in the back cover, which once held metal bosses. Reinforcing strips of brass nailed to the corners and edges of the covers. One of the frontpapers has an owner's name written on it, in ink, "Parker 1879." Sold by Sotheby to Thorpe, 1930 and purchased by the University of Chicago from Thorpe, catalogue 411, item no. 662, in 1930.
