- Extent: 1 volume (135 leaves) : illustrations ; 28 x 18 cm
- Note:
- Collation: first and last leaves are missing. Foliated 2-20, 22-25, 27-74, 74-79, 90-115, 117-118, 120-125, 125-137, 139-143, 145-148. Fol. 33-35 bear second set of numbers 62-64 in lower right hand corner. Fol. 20 has end-of-gathering catchword "salvator" but this word does not appear on the next leaf (fol. 22) or on any subsequent gathering head.
Script: Written in a fine, clear, mid-15th century Italian humanist script in 2 hands, the first responsible for four fifths of the work.
Layout: Written in 37 long lines; carefully ruled on the flesh sides of each leaf.
Decoration: The illuminated initials are decorated with blue, green, and gold. Caption titles written in badly faded red ink.
Binding: Original wooden boards with stamped calfskin, repaired by Horton Bindery in 1964; remains of 4 metal clasps.
A few marginal notes in other hands. Purchased by the University of Chicago in 1891 from S. Calvary & Co. of Berlin. - Keyword:
