Foliation: Parchment, ii (modern paper) + 245 + ii (modern paper); [1-50], 1-181, [232-245]; contemporary foliation in ink in roman numerals, upper center recto; modern foliation in pencil, upper right recto. Layout: Written in 20 long lines; frame-ruled in ink; prickings visible. Script: Written in a Gothic book script by several hands. Decoration: 3-line blue initial with red penwork ornamentation (f. 2r); rubricated capitals, initials, paragraph marks, and underlining. Binding: Vellum. Origin: Written in Germany, ca. 1400 (Zacour-Hirsch). Top edge of leaves and binding blackened, as if from fire; outer leaves are darkened; f. 1 has been cut in half vertically. Brief description in German attached to the flyleaf, signed Schrauf, dated 4 October 1876. Purchased, 1958.
