Two leaves laid in have notes in a 16th-century[?] hand.
Origin: Written in Austria in the second half of the 15th century (Zacour-Hirsch).
Ms. codex.
Binding: Contemporary stamped calf over wooden boards, with one clasp intact and remains of the second. Binding is cracking along both hinges. Front and back pastedowns are manuscript leaves from a gradual, with musical notation, on parchment.
Foliation: Paper, 249; multiple schemes of contemporary foliation in ink, upper right recto; [1-249]; later foliation in ink, upper right recto.
Script: Written in a Gothic cursive script by several different hands.
Decoration: Red initials, some with penwork ornamentation (for example, f. 198r); rubricated capitals and underlining throughout; manicule (f. 234r).
Third work, incipit f. 144v: Femina pessima, femina sordida, digna kathesis... in verse and prose, compiled from Pseudo-Hildebert and other sources.
