Depicted is a woman in Persian dress sitting outdoors on a large octogonal stool reading a book. Next to her is a dove tied to the stool. The picture is set within a navy and gold frame. Four lines of Persian verse written in nastaʻliq script in black inside gold boxes are set within the navy portion of the frame, one verse per side.
On the verso: Ali Reza Bihzad, possibly the artist?
