According to passage on fol. 5a, text was composed for Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh, Shah of Iran, 1831-1896.
Physical description: 19 lines per page; written in elegant nastaʻliq in black on glazed, laid Arabic paper. Catchwords and rubrication; several charts in red and black. Opening preface in Arabic vocalized in red. Insert between fol. 189-190. Text is on fol. 2b-189a. Light staining. In excellent condition.
Decoration: Illuminated ʻunwān on fol. 2b in a delicate gold, blue, red, and green floral pattern. Gold oval for title but not filled in. Text framed in gold and blue lines with outer marginal gold line.
Origin: Completed by the author at al-Arḍ al-Aqdas al-Muqaddasah [Palestine?] on 7 Jumādá I 1296 H. [29 April 1879] (fol. 188b).
Owner's stamp of Muḥammad Ḥasan dated 1302 H. [1884 or 5] (fol. 189a). - Keyword:
