First work, incipit and explicit: (f. 1r) Hec est via ambulate in ea ... (f. 73r) orationes pro dampnatis deus non exaudit.
Colophon (f. 73r): Iste liber est mei fratris Strephani Bilicich, abbatis monasterii sancti Nicolai portus sibenicensis, quem scripsi manu propria. [It is then dated 1449.].
Second work, incipit and explicit: (f. 73r) 1421. Consecrata fuit ecclesia in vodice ... (f. 75r) Dominus Michael dux[?] Seubenico obiit nescio quando.
Incipit of Italian poem (f. 88r): Ara la arena, chi per comune pena [this is repeated as an explicit].
Collation: Paper, i (modern paper) + 93 + i (modern paper); 1-516, 614 ( -1); 1-89, 91-94; contemporary foliation in ink, upper center recto. Catchwords in lower center margin, last verso of each quire, in a decorative border. Link to collation model at end of record.
Layout: Written in 21 long lines; ruled in lead; prickings visible.
Script: Written in Gothic hybrid and Gothic cursive scripts; at least partly (if not mainly) in the hand of Stephanus Bilicich.
Decoration: 6-line initial in red and white on a gold illuminated background, with foliage in margin (f. 1r); gold has mostly flaked away, leaving only the ground; several other colored initials in red, purple, yellow, green, brown, and black with penwork ornamentation; extensive use of red for highlights, headings and decorations; frequent use of manicules in margins.
Binding: 15th-century Italian vellum over boards, rebacked. Vellum splitting and pulling away from spine. Possible evidence of slight water damage.
Origin: Written in Sebenico (Dalmatia), 1449-1453 (f. 73r-75r). Today Sebenico is Šibenik in Croatia.
Sold by Guillaume Libri at auction at Sotheby's, 28 March 1859, lot 1043; purchased by Sir Thomas Phillipps (Phillipps ms. 14870).
Offered for sale at auction at Sotheby's, 10-17 June 1896, lot 1261.
