Layout: 2 columns of 39 lines; ruled in ink.
Script: Bâtarde.
Decoration: 2 large initials on painted cusped grounds with floral infilling and bar borders for beginning of poem; 2-line initials in alternating red and blue; first letter of each line washed in red or yellow; speech-prefixes in red; partial borders in gold, silver (tarnished).
Origin: Produced in France in the third quarter of the 15th cent.
Binding: Original wooden boards, partially bevelled at upper, lower and fore edges; the calf back partly covering the sides, with repeated longitudinal rows of gilt stamps of a rose divided by gilt fillets; the remainder of each side covered with pale cream velvet, having a delicate branded design of a curled leaf and a blossom, and 11 ornate bronze studs on each side, single chased bronze...
