Collation: Parchment, fol. i + 261 + i; 16 (missing first fol.) 2-178 186 19-338 344 ( -1); quires of the calendar are unsigned; quires of the Bible are signed a-z (with the sequence o-p-q repeated); catchwords in decorative frames at end of quire.
Layout: 2 columns of 32-34 lines per page; frame-ruled in ink with double lines at top, bottom, and margins for running title and marginal finding aids. Some prickings visible.
Script: Gothic script, with addition of Anglo-Saxon letter thorn.
Decoration: 14 7- to- 8-line illuminated initials on square gold ground with full borders with gold decoration; 13 6- to 8-line parti-colored blue and red initials with full borders of red and blue pen-flourishing; 3-line initials in alternating blue and gold with red or lavender. Many initials rubbed.
Binding: English tan calf, 16th century; narrow band borders of black and white enamel pigment within gold rules; inner panel with central medallion, all in gilt with enamel pigment scrollwork; two side clasps catching in back.
