Collation: Parchment, fol. ii + 131 + ii; 1-2 8 36(+1) 4-158 1610; quires signed 1-16 in a later (17th cent.?) hand.
Layout: Fol. 1v in 2 columns, remainder 16 lines of Biblical text ruled in hard point and occasionally lead; 40-56 lines of gloss in margins and top and bottom of page. Prickings visible.
Script: Early rounded gothic hand except for first 7 lines of fol. 2r, which are in uncials; 1 scribe for both text and gloss. Marginal notes in a 17th century hand.
Decoration: Inhabited initial on fol. 2r, decorated with white interlace pattern and blue, red and green, which extends the length of the text. 1- and 2-line secondary initials in text are red; other initials touched with red up to fol. 37r. First initial of gloss on each page is 2 lines and decorated with pen flourishes.
Binding: 18th cent. French mottled calf; spine gilt in compartments, gilt inner borders, gilt edges, marbled endpapers. Title on spine: "Genesis Latine M.S. Antiq. In Membran."
Origin: Produced in the 12th century in France, probably in Paris.
