Title from opening rubric (fol. 1r). Title at head of the 1st leaf the same as in the printed edition of Berthold Ruppel and Michael Wenssler, Basel, not after 1479.
Collation: Paper, fol. ii (modern paper and parchment) + 254 + i; 1-2012 2114; catchwords written vertically at the end of each quire.
Layout: 2 columns of 40 lines; horizontal rules in ink, vertical rules in lead.
Script: Fol. 1-5v written in an upright humanistic book hand; thereafter text written in a humanistic cursive script, perhaps by several hands; copious marginal notes in several hands.
Decoration: 1 gold initial with white vine-stem decoration on ground of blue, purple and green; 2-line initials in red, blue and black with remaining letters of initial words often in square capitals; sermon titles and paragraph marks in red; some spaces throughout for unexecuted 1- and 2-line initials.
Binding: Old vellum; 2 decorative leather reinforcements on spine; fore-edge leather ties (1 broken).
Origin: Likely from Northern Italy or Basel, Switzerland.
