Collation: Parchment, fragment of 4 leaves in one gathering + 2 individual leaves.
Layout: Fol. 1r-5v: written in 2 columns of 9 lines; frame-ruled in dry point with double outer vertical bounding lines, three middle vertical bounding lines and 1 inner vertical bounding line; fol. 6r: written in 11 long lines, possibly ruled in ink (parchment too blackened to tell).
Script: Written in Caroline miniscule; fol. 1r-5v by one hand, fol. 6r-v by a second hand.
Decoration: Fol. 1r-5v: initials in red with yellow infilling.
Music: Fol. 1r-5v: neumes on staves consisting of a red F line and a yellow C line; fol. 6r: northern French notation with a red F line (yellow C line may have been present at one time, but leaf is very darkened).
Binding: Modern paper wrapper (back cover bears watermark of 8-pointed star with circle with in the center).
Origin: According to John A. Emerson, the Tonary (fol. 1r-5v) comes from southern France and the antiphoner (fol. 6r-v) from northern France. Paul Merkley writes that the fragment was likely written in Italy.
