Layout: [Aquinas, Sermones] 35 long lines; frame-ruled in lead; prickings visible. [Unidentified ms.] 2 columns; 31-38 lines; frame-ruled in lead, prickings visible.
Script: Both texts written in gothic minuscule, each by one hand.
Decoration: Aquinas, Sermones: 3-line red initials, sometimes with simple flourishing; 1-line initials within text slashed in red. Unidentified ms.: 2-line initials in red or in black with red flourishing.
Binding: 17th cent. binding in brown sheepskin over pasteboard; blind tooling around edges; 3 raised bands; sewn end-bands laced in; contiguous endsheet and pastedown.
Origin: Aquinas, Sermones probably written in the Cistercian monastery of S. Maria of Morimondo in Milan by commission and at the expense of the monk Beltramo dei Redoldi, as declared by his note at the end of the text (fol. 79v). The second, unidentified text is written in a similar script, is similarly frame-ruled, and displays the same openings at the head of each page (see collation note...
