Script: Written in a Gothic script by one hand, or possibly two.
Collation: Parchment, fol. vi (i is pastedown) + 441 (foliation incorrect, fol. 285 follows fol. 283; fol. 1-381 contemporary foliation in Arabic numerals written in ink, fol. 382-441 modern foliation in pencil) + vi (vi is pastedown); 1-2212 2310 248 (+1) 25-3112 3214 338 34-3612 3716; framed catchwords at end of each quire.
Layout: Written in 2 columns of 32 lines; frame-ruled in lead; some prickings visible; rubricator's instructions sometimes visible but mostly cropped.
Decoration: 2- to 4-line initials in red and blue with pen-flourishing in red and pale purple; paragraph marks in alternating red and blue; headings in red; initials within text slashed in red.
Binding: 19th cent. Half vellum binding over pasteboard with partial covering in blue paper. Title in gilt lettering on red leather square on spine.
Origin: Existing descriptions cite both Italy and Spain as possible places of origin.
