Layout: Primarily in long lines, although fol. 1r-7r and 17r-21r are in 2 columns; 37-50 lines per page; 1st quire ruled in red.
Script: Written mainly in gothic script, although humanistic book script is also present. 5 hands identified. Scribe 1, fol. 1r-7ra, 17ra-21ra; scribe 2, fol. 8r-15r; scribe 3, fol. 22r-72v, 74r-82r, 88r-103v; scribe 4, fol. 73r-v; scribe 5, fol. 82v-84v.
Decoration: Spaces reserved for initials; numerous manicules (often with extremely elongated and twisted fingers) and other marginal finding aids, sometimes in the shape of animals (e.g., an octopus, fol. 1v, and a snake, fol. 18v).
Binding: Modern paper over limp pasteboards; 2 raised bands laced in.
Origin: Likely written in northern Italy, perhaps the Veneto region, judging from the watermarks, as well as from the presence of certain characteristic linguistic tendencies in the text and in Italian marginal notes.
