Collation: Parchment, fol. ii (modern parchment) + 252 + ii (modern parchment); 1-910 1014 ( -2 after fol. 91; no loss of text) 11-1210 1310 (with 3rd and 4th bifolia reversed in binding) 14-2210 23-248 2514 ( -14); quire signatures as letters of the alphabet [f]-z, ad hoc symbol, aa-ff, suggest that 5 quires are missing at beginning of text.
Layout: 15 long lines ruled in brown ink with top 2 and bottom 2 lines full across; single vertical bounding lines full length.
Script: Written in gothic book hand with versals placed partially outside the written space. Written by 3 scribes: scribe 1, fol. 1r-248r; scribe 2, rubrics, antiphons; scribe 3, fol. 248v-252v.
Decoration: 7 8-line historiated initials on burnished gold grounds with silver frames; marginal grotesques; 3-line initials in gold with bold bar extension the length of text; 1-line initials in gold with pen flourishings of alternating pink and blue. Decor similar to the Psalter of Guy de Dampierre.
Binding: 19th cent. brown morocco, stamped on front and back covers with interlaced pattern; Aldine leaves stamped in compartments on spine, except in the 2nd compartment which bears label from previous binding, reading "Psalterium et preces MS Sec. XIV"; gilt edges.
Origin: Written towards the beginning of the 14th cent. in Ghent, judging by the use of the office of the dead and the saints in the litany, as well as by the book's style and overall layout.
