- Extent: 424 leaves : parchment, col. ill. ; 150 x 115 (116 x 83) mm. bound to 150 x 116 mm.
- Note:
- Coat of arms (now cropped) with 3 balls and in chief a lion passant, all within a laurel wreath supported by standing putti, added in simple style in the lower margin of fol. 13; modern notes in French on added slips of paper with monogram "B (V? and E)"; first slip of paper stamped on verso "PP. on. A. Hart," and signed "Zoisany" . Later belonged to John C. Cebrian of San Francisco.

Collation: Parchment, fol. ii (modern parchment, the first of these glued to the verso of the endleaf) + 424 + ii (modern parchment, the second of these glued to the recto of the endleaf); 112 2-2010 218 22-2610 274 (through fol. 264) 28-3910 404 (through fol. 388) 41-4310 446 ( -6; + flyleaf); quires numbered unreliably in modern pencil on first leaf recto in lower right corner; catchwords...
Layout: 2 columns of 33 lines ruled in lead for horizontal lines and in dry point for vertical bounding lines.
Script: Written in round gothic book hand in 2 sizes according to liturgical function, either by several scribes or by one scribe with varying control. Scribe 1, fol. 211-264v; possibly several scribes for remaining folios.
Decoration: 1 12-line historiated initial on square gold round (leaf 211v); 13 6-line painted initials on square gold rounds with broad, leafy extensions (leaves 13, 35v, 56, 154v, 160v, 211, 222, 227v, 231v, 236, 241v, 246v, 389); 1 6-line pen-flourished initial; 2-line initials in alternating red and blue with harping and beading in other color. Rubrics red throughout.
Binding: modern green morocco with gold-stamped dentelle on turn-ins.
Origin: Written in Italy, probably Florence, by the middle of the fourteenth cent. The book was written for Franciscan use.
