Layout: Double columns; 19 lines at highest point (with evidence of additional lines torn away); frame-ruled. Housed in paper mat, 310 x 330 mm. Decoration: Illuminated initials; geometric patterned border at left; image of a bird in left and right margins. Origin: This text is of the same type as a group of manuscripts discovered in the ruins of the White Monastery (now called Dayr al-Abyaḍ) founded by the Coptic monk Shenute near Sūhāj in Upper Egypt (see dealer description on verso of mat).
