The first four leaves are not foliated. Modern pencilled foliation appears at the bottom center of the recto side of each leaf; earlier foliation in ink, often at variance with the modern, appears at the bottom right.
The bifolium that constitutes ff. 1 and 10 is parchment; all the other leaves are paper.
Layout: Main text written in 28-29 long lines; ruled. Other texts written in 30-35 long lines.
Script: Gothic textual.
Decoration: First initial in red and blue with violet pen-flourishes; ff. 1r-4r contain initials in red or blue; thereafter all initials in red only.
Binding: 17th cent.(?), parchment wrapper. Spine (in Gothic script): "Valerio Maximo. manuscripto".
Origin: Written in Spain, late 14th century (before 1429).
Provenance: Early owners noted on f. 130v. Acquired by Dorothy M. Schullian, 23 July 1945. Donated to Cornell University Library, 10 June 1988. - Keyword:
