Manuscript codex
Collation: iii (modern paper, i and ii are pastedowns) + 158 (parchment) + iii (modern paper, ii and iii are pastedowns): 1² + 2-19⁸ + 20-21⁶.
Foliation: Modern foliation in pencil in upper right corner (1, 1a, 2-157).
Signatures: Quires two to thirteen signed a-c, e, d, f-i, k-m, with the first half of the leaves in each quire also signed 1-4 in lower right corner of the recto side of leaves; signature q present on folio 114r and t (?) on folio 138r. Rest of the leaf signatures may have been lost due to trimming.
Catchwords: Horizontal catchwords in lower right corner on folios 9v, 17v, 25v, 33v, 41v, 49v, 57v, 65v, 73v, 81v, 89v, 97v, 105v, 113v, 121v, 129v, 137v, 145v, 151v.
Watermarks: Single watermark on the front and back flyleaves: reads "G. Fichtners Nachf."
Layout: Written in two columns of 48 lines, below top line. Frame ruled in two columns in lead and ink, with single vertical and double horizontal bounding lines. There is an unused, third horizontal bounding line in the upper margin on several leaves. Pricking marks visible on the outer margins of most leaves.
Script: Written by a single hand in Netherlandish Hybrida Libraria.
Decoration: 9-line puzzle initial A and 10-line puzzle initial C in red and blue with foliate pen-flourishing in red, violet and green, developing into partial borders on folios 2ra and 23rb respectively; 6-line initial H and 7-line initial D in blue with foliate pen-flourishing in red and green on folios 3vb and 21va respectively; 2- to 7-line initials in alternating plain red and blue at the...
Binding: Modern, eighteenth century. Bound in dark brown quarter leather and paste paper in brown patterns over wooden boards. Wooden boards may originate from the contemporary binding of the manuscript. Five raised bands. Blind-tooling on spine, featuring a six-petal flower between each raised band except for the title area at the head of spine, between the first and second raised bands...
Origin: Probably written in the Netherlands, possibly North Holland in the second half of the fifteenth century.

In good condition. Outer half of the second leaf (folio 1a) is excised with no loss of text. Minor water damage in the upper margin of last two leaves. Pastedowns as well as the recto of the first leaf and the verso of the final leaf are stained from leather turn-ins. Early history of the manuscript is unknown. Unidentified ownership inscription in ink in upper left corner on front pastedown: "No: 3 H. J. von Ausjem" (?).
