Collation: iv (paper, i is pastedown) + 40 (parchment) + ii (paper, ii is pastedown): 1 leaf (added later) + 2⁸ (wants 1, 2) + 3⁸ + 4¹⁰ + 5⁸ + 6⁸ (wants 7, 8, possibly blank) + 1 leaf (misbound).
Foliation: Unfoliated. Foliation supplied by cataloger.
Catchwords: Horizontal catchwords at center on folios 7v, 15v, 25v, 33v.
Watermarks: Two different watermarks on front and back flyleaves, both dated to 1819 and found in manuscripts and books from Genoa, Italy. 1. Watermark with a double contoured shield, on which there is a crowned lion in right profile, supported by two lions. Underneath the shield it reads Bento Picardo in capital letters, and underneath a number 4 (Bernstein Portal, no. Tecnicelpa 628). 2...
Layout: Written in 26 long lines, below top line. Ruled in drypoint.
Script: Written by Antonius de Bozollo in Humanistic bookhand [see origin].
Decoration: 2- to 3-line initials in gold with black penwork, blue with red penwork, gold with light blue penwork throughout; rubrics in red; headings in red.
Binding: Modern, early nineteenth century. Bound in full leather dyed in green, gold-tooled. Four raised bands. Gold-tooling on spine; title areas are of leather dyed in light brown and onlaid, perhaps taken from an earlier binding as the endings of the words are cut off. All three edges of the bookblock is sprinkled red. Minor damage around the corners and scratches on both covers.
Origin: Written by Antonius de Bozollo probably in Genoa, Italy and completed on June 1, 1463: "Perfecte sunt per me Antonium de Boçollo notarium et in p[raese]ntiarum subcancellarium. Anno dominice nativitatis MoccccoLxotercio die primo Iunii. Duce r[evenrendissi]mo in Ch[rist]o p[at]re et illustri domino. P[aolus] dei gratia archiep[iscop]o Ianuen[si]" -- colophon, folio 39r.

San Francisco, State of California, Sutro Collection, MS 07 also contains the Epistles of Phalaris copied by Antonius de Bozollo. Cambridge, Harvard University, Houghton Library, MS Typ 17 bears an ownership inscription of Antonius de Bozollo.
In good condition except for minor water damage on the upper part of fore-edge and a few ink smears. Few corrections, possibly by the scribe themself. The first two leaves of the original first gathering were dismembered, the first of which is missing and the second leaf is misbound, now at the end of the codex (folio 40). A title page was added to the manuscript to replace the initial leaf...
Early history of the manuscript is uncertain. It seems that the manuscript stayed in or around Genoa, Italy at least until the nineteenth century after it was copied by Antonius de Bozollo [see origin and watermarks]. Note in Italian by an unidentified modern hand pasted on front pastedown. Possible bookseller mark in pencil on lower left corner of back pastedown: "pippa." Bookseller mark of... - Keyword:
