Manuscript codex
Collation: i (parchment, pastedown) + 34 (parchment) + i (parchment, pastedown): 1-3⁸ + 4¹⁰.
Foliation: Modern foliation in pencil in upper right corner (5, 10, 15, 16, 19, 20, 30, 34).
Layout: Written in 21 long lines, below top line. Ruled in ink, with single full-length vertical bounding lines in either ink or lead.
Script: Written by a single hand (?) in Gothic rotunda.
Decoration: A 7-line foliate initial P in pink, blue, red, black and green on gold background on folio 1r; a 6-line initial F in blue with dark red penwork on folio 2v; a 6-line initial M in red with gray penwork on folio 19r; a 4-line initial C in blue with dark red penwork on folio 20r; most rubrics in red; sentence initials touched in red throughout.
Binding: Fifteenth-century, possibly original. Bound in full dark brown leather over wooden boards, with three alum-tawed slit straps. Blind-tooling with concentric interlaced strapwork design on front and back cover. Three raised bands. Leather straps are broken off and are missing together with clasps. Two sets of four rivets with a star-shaped design on the fore-edge of the front cover and...
Origin: Probably written in Italy in the third quarter of the fifteenth century.

In relatively good condition despite heavy water damage that caused discoloration of parchment on upper part of the manuscript towards fore-edge, especially in last quire. Lower half of folio 4 excised, with no loss of text. A series of contemporary corrections and additions, including use of technical signs such as trigons and trifolia. Manicules on folios 3r, 7v, 8r, 8v, 9v, 10r, 10v, 11r...
History of the manuscript is unknown. Partly legible ownership inscription on lower margin on folio 1r, unidentified: "Iste liber est d[omi]ni Philippi [?]". Possible bookseller marks in pencil: inscribed "8620 / JC" on upper left corner of front pastedown and "817" on upper margin of folio 1r. - Keyword:
