- Date from colophon (ff. 110v-111r), which also states the place of writing, the church (ʻumra) of Mar Michael the archangel.
The ms. is complete. Many leaves have been repaired at the fore-edges, but only f. 111 has lost text.
Foliated (using Syriac letters) by a later hand at the bottom of each recto.
Written in a large bold estrangela hand with some East Syriac vowels, in two columns, 19 lines per column. The liturgical occasion is rubricated before each lection, which then specifies the epistle and begins with the word ʾAḥay in red.
There are scrawled notes in Syriac and Arabic at the front and back. On the back board are pasted parts of Syriac and Arabic manuscript leaves.
"...obtained by Messrs. Smith and Dwight, American Missionaries, from a Nestorian Cathedral church, at Jamal-ava, in the province of Oormia, in Persia. A.D. 1831." - note in the hand of Eli Smith inside front board.
With a letter from Isaac H. Hall (5 May 1888) tipped in, identifying the ms.
Oriental binding in quarter leather over boards made from layers of paper.
In a tray case, 36 cm.
