Collation: Parchment, i (modern parchment?) + 67; 150 218 (-1, used as pastedown); [i, 1], 2-24, [25-49], 1-9 [=50-58], [59-66]; contemporary foliation in ink in first half of each gathering, modern foliation in pencil in second half, lower left verso. Layout: Written in 34 long lines; ruled in red ink with double vertical bounding lines. Script: Written in a rounded Gothic script. Decoration: Painted half-page miniatures of the Virgin and Child and the owner praying in armor with vertical borders (f. i verso); half-page miniatures of the crucifixion and the owner's coat of arms with vertical borders(f. 1r); 15-line miniature of Saint James (f. 1v) and 9-line miniature of Philip II (f. 65r); 15 illuminated initials, 5-line to 9-line, in gold and black on red grounds with... Binding: Modern vellum over pasteboards; external bifolium probably originally served as wrapper (see f. 1r, with inscription Derechos mill y trecientos y veynte mrs[?] registro xii s[ello?] seda plomo lxxx[o]). Origin: Written in Granada, signed 12 September 1578 (f. 65v). Sold by Thomas Thorp Ltd., cat. 405 (1973), no. 28, to Monsignor David McRoberts (1912-1978).
