The text is in an Italian-like cursive hand in brown and violet ink. The drawings are in pen and ink with grey or bluish wash.
The ms. has no title. The title "A choice of emblemes" is that of the printed edition (Leiden 1587).
Contemporary vellum binding, repaired.
In a red morocco pull-off case, 28 cm.
This is probably the dedication copy to the Earl of Leicester mentioned in the printed edition of the text.
