Written in a formal gothic script in Ghent, Belgium, and decorated with 15 historiated initials, probably at the Benedictine abbey of St. Peter of Mont-Blandin, near Ghent. Bound in 18th-cent. Belgian (?) blind-tooled mottled brown calf. In a protective tray case, 22 cm. Belonged to the Benedictine abbey of St. Peter of Mont-Blandin, near Ghent (partially erased ex libris, f. 1r: "Sancti Petri in Blandino iuxta Gandavum"; in an unidentified English sale, ca. 1830, no. 13; bookplate with arms and motto of Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex (MS VI.H.h.15); bookplate of William Maskell; John Ruskin (inscribed, front flyleaf); gift from Ruskin to Charles Eliot Norton. Purchased with funds from the Friends of the Library, 1905.
