Written in a compressed semi-quadrata script in 1 column of 24 lines; liturgical calendar (half full) has 1 month on each page. Two full-page miniatures of a funeral mass (f. 44v) and St. Jerome (f. 66v), 4 foliate borders, numerous decorated initials on burnished gold ground and smaller initials in blue and burnished gold with pen flourishes. Written and illuminated in England. Bound in a vellum leaf from a 16th-cent. antiphonary. In a tray case, 21 cm. Bequest of William K. Richardson, 1951. Belonged to "Madame Garibell Smythley", wife of Henry Ynche, alias Hynche (inscribed, f. [73r]); Lt. Col. Sir W. H. Ingilby of Ripley Castle, Yorkshire; his sale (London, 21 Oct. 1920, lot 83); bought by Maggs; to Richardson (from Maggs, cat. 404, 1921, no. 19).
