- Written in littera bastarda with many flourishes, in brownish ink in 24 long lines to a page, possibly by Nicolas Flamel. Small initial letters of each verse are in gold and colors. Ff. 2r, 47r have larger initials with foliate decoration in gold and colors.
"Ce livre est a Jehan..." - f. 1r, some following words being erased. On ff. 46r and 80v, the word "Royne" has been erased. Probably the ms. was written for Joanna of Navarre (ca. 1370-1437).
Bound in 19th-century blind-tooled brown morocco, edges gilt, by Trautz-Bauzonnet.
Inside the front board are notes in the hand of Sydney Cockerell concerning the provenance of the ms.
