The earl's name is spelled "Bigot", and among the witnesses listed are several with the name Le Bigot. The seal, originally 7 cm. in diameter and imperfectly preserved, is attached on a slip of vellum laced through the bottom of the document. It shows an equestrian figure on the obverse and the Bigod family arms on the reverse. Written in a gothic notarial script in black ink in long lines. In a tray case, 29 cm.
