Written in France, probably Rouen, for Archbishop Cardinal Georges d'Amboises.
Written in a Roman hand in brown ink in two columns. There are ca. 45 large illuminated initial letters. F. 1r has an illuminated border (f. 1r) including the arms of Georges d'Amboise.
Bound in modern blind-stamped pigskinwith brass clasps by Kuiper (signature on f. 1r).
In a tray case, 37 cm.
Archbishop's library at Rouen (1518-1594; no. 67 in inventory of 1550); Roderick Terry (bookplate; his sale, New York 1934, lot 169).
Deposited by Philip Hofer, 1967; bequeathed, 1984.
