The French translation is that of Raoul de Presles, made for Charles V in 1375. The ms. is vol. 2 (now bound as 3 vols.) of a 2-volume set written for Jean, Duc de Berry. The French text is written in a gothic book hand in black ink in 2 columns, initials in red and blue with pen-work decoration. There are 12 miniatures in colors and gold, by the workshops of the Master of the Livre du Sacre de Charles V, the Master of the Bible of Jean de Sy, and the Master of the Coronation of Charles VI. The decoration also includes 15 foliate borders and 15 illuminated initials. Bound ca. 1901 in three volumes in red velvet. In 3 tray cases, 50 cm.
